On both the outbound and the return journey, a transit in Abu Dhabi is not secured (there 3:25 hours, back 9:35 hours), alternatively, you can make a longer stopover and see Dubai. Tickets need to be purchased on 2 separate reservations: Vienna - Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi - Maldives (transit is at own risk).
Many dates are available from November 2024 till February 2025. The main season here lasts from October to April (dry season), but we do not recommend travelling during Ramadan (28th February - 29th March 2025).

These tickets do not guarantee a transfer - in case of a delay and subsequent missing of another flight, it is at your own responsibility. However, there is a longer transfer time which should be sufficient even in case of a delay.
You will arrive on the Maldives around 7:00 AM and depart from the Maldives around 8:00 AM - it can happen that some ships from the airport to the islands do not operate at convenient times - check it directly at the accommodation if they have a ship that day that connects with your flights. If not, if necessary, you will need to stay the first or last night on the island of Hulhumalé near the airport, for example in hotel h78**** (recommended).
We can recommend these local islands in the Maldives: Ukulhas and Dhiffushi (we visited these two), but Thoddoo, Maafushi, Dhigurah, Gulhi or Rasdhoo are also great.
If you have a longer layover in Abu Dhabi, we recommend the Premier Inn Abu Dhabi International Airport*** which is right at the airport. Alternatively, in the city, we recommend the Traders Hotel****, close to the Grand Mosque and about 20 minutes by taxi from the airport for a few euros.
