On the journey there and back, there's an unsecured transfer in Abu Dhabi (there 3:25 hr, back 9:35 hr). Alternatively, you can take a stopover and explore Dubai. Tickets need to be purchased as two separate reservations: Vienna - Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi - Maldives (transfer is at your own risk).
Many dates are available from November 2024 to February 2025. The main season lasts from October to April (dry period), however, we do not recommend travelling during Ramadan (28th February - 29th March 2025).

This ticket does not guarantee a transfer - in case of delay and subsequent missing of another flight, it is at your own responsibility. However, there is a longer time for the transfer, which should be sufficient even in case of a delay.
The arrival to the Maldives is around 7:00 in the morning and the departure from the Maldives is around 8:00 in the morning - it may happen that some boats from the airport to the islands do not operate at convenient times - find out directly at your accommodation, whether they have a boat on that day that connects to these flights. If not, as necessary, you need to spend the first or last night on the island of Hulhumalé near the airport, for example in the h78**** hotel (recommended).
We can recommend the following local islands in the Maldives: Ukulhas and Dhiffushi (we visited these two), but Thoddoo, Maafushi, Dhigurah, Gulhi or Rasdhoo are also great.
If you have a longer transfer in Abu Dhabi, we recommend the Premier Inn Abu Dhabi International Airport*** hotel - it is right at the airport. Alternatively, in the city, we recommend the Traders Hotel****, near the Grand Mosque, and about 20 minutes by taxi from the airport for a few euros.
